Pumpkin Patch

I planted pumpkins again this year, but for some reason not a single pumpkin grew. I suspect it was because Mommy didn't weed enough. A newborn does not allow much time for gardening. Oh well, Sophie's worth it!

This year we headed over to Rosewood Gardens pumpkin patch to let Max pick out some pumpkins for our front porch. We had a blast! There were hundreds of pumpkins everywhere and Max kept loading pumpkin after pumpkin into our cart. (Daddy and Mommy carefully unloaded while he wasn't looking.) We had so much fun that I think we'll make it a new family tradition.

Out of the Mouths of Babes

On Sunday morning, as we were getting dressed, Max saw his bag of night-time pull-up pants. He wanted very badly to put one on, but we told him that they were just for bedtime. A few minutes later he was poking around in the closet, next to the pull-ups again. "No Max," we said firmly. His reply, "I was just thinking about them dad. Puh-leeeeze!" He's only 3 1/2 years old! Where'd that attitude come from already!!
Last night Daddy was putting Max to bed and said, "Goodnight my little peanut." Max looked at him with a concerned face and said, "No Dad. I'm not a peanut, I'm Max!"
Max was being naughty so Dad took away his books. Max said, "No! Those are MY books." Daddy said, "No, those are my books.' After a long pause, Max said in a defeated voice, "Oh yeah, they're yours."
We were at the library and Max was playing with another little boy. I had to remind him to share the toys and he said, "I am sharing ... with ME!" The other mom standing there busted out laughing. The joys of a two year old!
A few days ago Max told a complete stranger, "Sophie drink milk from Mommy's boobie." Oh my, oh my, oh my.
Today Max was begging to go outside but I was busy feeding Sophie. In a very concerned voice he said, "but Mommy, I HAVE to go outside. The grass is berry firsty." He feels it is his sacred duty to water the grass all day long.
I opened the curtains when Max woke up from his nap and he exclaimed, "Mr. Sunshine came out! How it happen?!"
